November 2017, This piece was drawn in a foundational class in response to a prompt that involves drawing something surreal in response to a collection of objects pertaining to a topic important to each individual person. I originally chose the HG Wells story war of the worlds, encompassing the novel, the broadcast, and all other following incarnations.
April 2018, This piece was drawn with tuscan red conte and willow charcoal towards the end of my first figure drawing course at BGSU. I imagined a more open and classic space than the boring white box of space our model sat in day to day.
October 2017, This piece was drawn in a foundations class that prompted we visually morph two objects together. I took the piece a bit further and began to imagine what these objects and their inbetween stages would be able to share a space within and envisioned a supply closet, illustrating both the ukulele and the toilet plunger as a practical tool. This piece ended up aligning the two objects in function rather than contrasting them.
